Police: Two stole olives from salad bar

- A 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested on Russell Street following a report of shoplifting at Hannaford supermarket on at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Vladislav Kirdeev and Alexey Piskunov, both of 34 Hammond St., were charged with shoplifting $35 worth of olives from the salad bar, police said.

Man arrested for assault charge

- A 41-year-old man was arrested at his School Street home at 3 a.m. on Sunday, after police got a call from Worcester police saying they had probable cause to arrest him, police said.

Seth Putnam, of 157 School St., was arrested on probable cause for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a microphone), police said.
