What A World.

So War Criminal Cheney has acknowledged outing a CIA agent, straight up treason. Nazi Pope is taking some time out from shielding pedophiles like Bernard Law to condemn a lifestyle that may reduce his corporate intake. WPE is handing out holiday pardons like candy.
The environment is imploding, the world economy is careening toward catastrophe, and what does the "Press" feed the public?

Less Than A Month 'Till These Dunces Are Done!

Anticipating the palpable relief, what an upgrade. My goal was to make it through the eight long years.
Now I'd love to live long enough to see them tried, convicted and serving time for their monumental crimes.

Time's Slippin' Away

What a day, what a week, what a year....Every day the world wakes up crazy.
Lacking the energy and creativity to bring this blog to fruition, but one safe prediction is that there'll be some time over the next few dark, sad, frozen months to hopefully type something useful into this machine. Strange thing, a secret blog, no marketing worries, concerns about exposure. I think the plan is to reveal some things in the long run, and should I ever meet someone interesting/interested enough, they can go through these and see if there's any me in here. Otherwise, I guess it's a futile exercise. Well, at least it's a place to group random photos.....

Lame Duck Ducks, Had Practice

If you had ducked out of The Vietnam War, if you had ducked responsibility for September Eleventh, and an unnecessary war that has killed thousands of brave Americans and 100,000 innocent civilians, this one was easy. WPE has been rehearsing that move for a long time.

China says 300,000 babies sickened by tainted milk

...yet they still find time for espionage, hacking into sensitive U.S. defense systems. Too bad we owe them billions for loans. Thanks again, George.

"These foods of Chinese origin have been found by authorities in the United States, Canada, Australia, or parts of Asia to contain an industrial chemical called melamine that is used to make plastic. In recent weeks, the Chinese government has admitted that adding melamine to food - which raises protein levels, making poor-quality products look more nutritious - is common practice in China.

Melamine can cause kidney stones and kidney failure when eaten. It has already sent about 54,000 Chinese consumers to the hospital and caused the deaths of at least four infants. And it has thus far been found in 14 imported cookie, candy and beverage products in the United States." - SFGATE.COM

Seventy Days

That's my goal now, just to live through the Bush Error. Eight years of straight up stupidity, greed and hubris. The Puppeteers have corroded the very core of this nation. It's all gonna be frosting on the cake to have just survived it, so many haven't. Thousands of innocent civilians and brave soldiers won't be around to join in the celebration in January.
And, as always, here's hoping Dick Cheney burns in Hell.

G.O.P. Pride.

8 years ago we picked the guy who had the most name recognition and the fattest contributors. When he couldn't be elected, we allowed the "Supreme Court" to be used like a panel of saps, cheezy politicians. (Shame we had to shatter people's faith, but business is business) Karl had a mob outside the VP's house, and of course there was the Brooks Brothers Riot. Then we sat back on autopilot, and our boys were asleep at the wheel. (BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO STRIKE WITHIN US)...........
BAM! 911. Making lemonade from this unforeseen event, we set about Operation: Revenge For Daddy/ Blood For Oil. -Big success, "only" 13 dead last month! We mocked and belittled the Geneva Convention, the United Nations, and anyone who wouldn't blindly sign onto the program.
Then we took a government that had a $153 BILLION surplus , gave tax-breaks to our rich friends and pissed away the rest on half-baked economic policies and a completely unnecessary war. We packed federal agencies with political appointments (FEMA), cut lunches for school kids in order to shower Halliburton/KBR with massive multi million dollar no-bid contracts. We have compromised the integrity of all this country stood for. This beacon, this beautiful concept called the U.S.A. has lost respect in the eyes of the world. Habeus Corpus, Emminent Domain, The Bill Of Rights? Stop being such a friggin' crybaby!
Now, after wasting the nations blood and treasure, we're just a lil too busy to take responsibility, apologize or attempt to make amends. We must demonize any and all opposition and hang onto power. We know best, don't we?

FDA Needs To Reconsider Its Tolerance Regarding BPA
By Irene Collins

The FDA was urged by a scientific panel to rethink a recent conclusion that a chemical used in baby bottles and infant formula packing is safe at current levels. The science board agreed with the finding that that the FDA was wrong to base its August decision that BPA is safe only on studies funded by the chemical industry.

Excluded studies suggest that BPA, which acts like the hormone estrogen, could pose harm to children at levels at least 10 times lower than what the agency allows. But the FDA quickly issued a statement reiterating its view that "based on all available evidence" current levels of exposure to BPA through food packaging do not pose an immediate health risk to the public, including infants and babies.

The panel, which formally presents its report to an FDA science committee on Friday, urged the agency to take into account other animal studies that have found health concerns and studies published since the draft assessment was made.

Bisphenol A, commonly abbreviated as BPA, is an organic compound with an annual production of 2–3 million tones; it is an important ingredient in the production of polycarbonate. Suspected of being hazardous to humans since the 1930s, concerns about the use of bisphenol A in consumer products grabbed headlines in 2008 when several governments issued reports questioning its safety, and some retailers pulled products made from it off their shelves. Children are commonly exposed to BPA from plastic baby bottles, the linings of metal liquid formula cans and other consumer products. Tests have found the chemical in 93% of Americans.

Blog Fatigue

I don't know how people do it every day. They sit at their keyboards and pound out their heartfelt convictions, steadfast opinions as if they are unique, prescient.
I just don't have any brilliant solutions that I'm anxious to spring on the world. this has been an interesting exercise, but to what purpose? Larry Craig & Ted Stevens will still have a big fat pension. Karl Rove will collect Fox money. And war criminal Dick Cheney? Oh, he'll be okay.
Burnt-out on this election cycle. No matter what happens, no one is going to accept responsibilty for the stolen 2000 election, 3000 dead on Sept 11, George's Quagmire, the Katrina deaths, the wholesale theft of good, hard working folks retirement money by greedy speculators. Well, no matter who wins, can they possibly screw this world up worse than the WORST PRESIDENT EVER? You Betcha.

Is Palin Trying To Incite Violence Against Obama?
MCCAIN CAMP TALKS 'CHARACTER ASSASSINATION,' SUPPORTERS SHOUT FOR REAL ASSASSINATION
At her last rally in Florida, Sarah Palin told the audience that Barack Obama "palled around with terrorists" adding,"I am just so fearful that this is not a man who sees America the way you and I see America." Upon hearing the Republican VP candidate's concern that Sen. Obama might be a terrorist, a voice in the crowd cried out 'Kill him!'

McCain Campaign Amplifies Violent Rhetoric, GOP Crowds Threaten Obama's Life
The Washington Post's Dana Milbank reported an incident at a Palin rally that should open America's eyes to the central role violent rhetoric now plays in the McCain campaign. Milbank describes how Palin told the crowd in Florida that Obama has close associations with a terrorist who sought to bomb the Pentagon and the U.S. Capital, in response to which the crowd responded with a threat on Sen. Obama's life:

"Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers...And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, 'launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,'" she continued.

"Boooo!" the crowd repeated.

"Kill him!" proposed one man in the audience.

Palin went on to say that "Obama held one of the first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers's living room, and they've worked together on various projects in Chicago." Here, Palin began to connect the dots. "These are the same guys who think that patriotism is paying higher taxes -- remember that's what Joe Biden had said. "And" -- she paused and sighed -- "I am just so fearful that this is not a man who sees America the way you and I see America, as the greatest force for good in the world. I'm afraid this is someone who sees America as 'imperfect enough' to work with a former domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country." -

An Apparent Flip-Flop On Gay Rights
Karen Breslau
NEWSWEEK
From the magazine issue dated Oct 13, 2008
Watching the vice presidential debate, you might have gotten the impression that Sarah Palin supports civil rights for same-sex couples. During an exchange on the topic, both she and Joe Biden said they oppose gay marriage. But Biden added that he and Barack Obama favor granting gay couples many of the same benefits—hospital visitation rights, health benefits—that married couples enjoy. Palin was tougher to pin down. She clearly didn't want to appear intolerant, but neither did she want to seem to embrace gay rights. "[N]o one would ever propose, not in a McCain-Palin administration, to do anything to prohibit, say, visitations in a hospital or contracts being signed …" she said.

The folks in Alaska might have been surprised to hear that. In the past, Palin has described her opposition to granting gay couples the benefits married couples receive. In an August 2007 interview with NEWSWEEK, Palin said she had upheld such benefits (angering fellow conservatives) but only because the state Supreme Court said it was unconstitutional to deny them:

NEWSWEEK : And do you have a position on that? Would you like to see it? Do you care? PALIN: I would vote to further define the definition of marriage as it pertains to benefits even—yes, I would.

That is, not extend benefits to same-sex couples?
Correct. And if it took an amendment to our constitution, I would go there …

The Alaska governor was careful not to say anything like that during the debate. Biden, sensing an opportunity, tried to force Palin into clarifying her position. "I'm glad to hear the governor … thinks there should be no civil-rights distinction … between a committed gay couple and a committed heterosexual couple. If that's the case, we really don't have a difference."

Moderator Gwen Ifill threw it back to Palin: "Is that what you said?" Palin dodged the question: "Your question to him was whether he supported gay marriage and my answer is the same as his and is that I do not." A spokeswoman for the McCain campaign told NEWSWEEK that Palin opposes "all forms of discrimination against people with different lifestyles."
